Friday 8th July, 2011

Congratulations to all of our runners who completed 2011's Mayfair Park and Tower Race! The race was won by Emmeric Hurault in a time of 18 minutes and 58 seconds, just 5 seconds shy of the course record, set last year by Chef Alan Murchison. This year's race featured a new morning start time of 8am, with the runners re-invigorated by champagne and bacon sandwiches in Galvin at Windows following the race. The course was the same as the last two years, starting at the park bandstand opposite the London Hilton on Park Lane, circumnavigating the Serpentine Lake, charging into the Hilton on Park Lane and powering up the 28 flights of stairs to the respite of Galvin's at Windows!! 2011 Race times

Funds raised will be used to continue Galvin's Chance. Galvin's Chance is the brain child of Fred Sirieix and Chris Galvin of Galvin's at Windows and is designed to help disadvantaged young people at risk from gun and knife crime by opening up opportunities for gaining sustainable jobs in the hospitality industry. Our first two groups of apprentices have completed Galvin's Chance with several from each year group now settled in full time employment.

Thanks to all of our runners for taking on this towering challenge in aid of Galvin's Chance. Next year's date is set for 6th June again at 8am so register early.
